Goo Gone Grout & Tile Cleaner:
Product Review

I want to start off by saying that I’m not being paid to write this review on goo gone grout cleaner. I enjoy trying new products and sharing my thoughts on those products with others. I have tile in my kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms.

Thanks to muddy dog footprints and general grime, the grout gets very dirty in those high traffic areas… and if I’m being honest, I thought mopping would be sufficient enough to clean both the tile and the grout, but I was wrong. I needed to find the best grout cleaner to tackle this job. Quick side note… if you want any information on the best mop available, click here. I’m obsessed with this mop!!

The first grout cleaner I tried was, Black Diamond. I used it per the instructions listed on the back of the bottle and it made little to no difference on the grout. Frustrated, I went back to the store and purchased Goo Gone’s Grout and Tile cleaner.

Why I like Goo Gone Grout & Tile Cleaner:

I’m sure you’re most familiar with Goo Gone’s adhesive and sticker remover, but they have expanded their product line extensively over the last few years. When they introduced their tile and grout cleaner, I decided to work it into the cleaning aisle when I was working as the department manager at a small hardware store.

To my surprise, it was completely sold out just days after I had stocked it for the first time so I ordered twice as much the next time, and that sold out quickly too. That’s when I knew I had to try it for myself and I’m glad I did because I absolutely love this product.

Why do I like this product so much? There are several reasons I like this grout cleaner so much, but the thing I like the most is that it does the work for you. By that I mean, you simply spray it on, let it sit for a couple of minutes, wipe the area with a wet cloth and

  • Foaming Spray: It’s easy to spray the cleaner directly onto the grout line without over spreading to the rest of the tile.
  • Pleasant Scent: I LOVE how pleasant it smells. It’s completely fume free. That’s probably the last thing you’d expect from a grout cleaner, but it’s true! It makes the area smell so clean. I wish I could bottle the scent, just so I could use it with all of the various cleaners I use.
  • Surface Safe: It’s safe to use on natural stone, porcelain, ceramic tile, and fiberglass.
  • Non-Corrosive: Unlike bleach, this product is pH Neutral and will NOT damage stone or corrode metals. Additionally, bleach is corrosive and can cause skin burns and eye damage. Goo Gone Grout Cleaner is non-corrosive and non-irritating to skin.

How to use:

It’s very simple to use. You spray the cleaner directly onto the grout. Then, you’ll let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it away with a wet rag or sponge. Personally, I like using my easy wring spin mop to clean up. I fill the bucket with water, wipe it up the mess and wring it out. I also used a grout brush on the heavily soiled areas, but the cleaner really does a great job even without a grout brush. You can see the results in the pictures below.

However, if you feel that your dirty grout would benefit from using a grout brush, I recommend this set of 7 various brushes and tools. I also like one that connects to a drill so it’s less work, which you can find here.

Best Grout Cleaner

I should’ve started with Goo Gone first, instead of the other brand considering that Goo Gone’s grout cleaner consistently flew off the shelf at my hardware store. To purchase your own bottle, click here or check the price by clicking the button below.
