Crafting Ideas into Reality

Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray

 SW-7029 / LRV: 60

Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray is a soft and subtle warm gray paint color. Considering that it’s Sherwin Williams number one selling color, some people argue that it could be the most popular paint color ever.

If you search “gray paint color” in Pinterest, Agreeable Gray will show as one of the top search results. I want to know what makes it so popular, and that’s what I’m going to review with you in this post.

Agreeable Gray Undertones

Agreeable Gray is a warm light gray, that I also refer to as “greige”. As with any paint color, lighting plays a huge part in undertones. Agreeable Gray has a nice balance of color so it’s not too brown or too gray.

Areas with cooler lighting, Agreeable Gray may look slightly more blue/green/violet whereas areas with warmer lighting, Agreeable Gray may look more yellow.

This is such a versatile color! It can truly be used for any room in the house, which is why it’s one of my favorite neutral paint colors.

White Dove LRV

The Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of Agreeable is 60. LRV indicates how much light is reflected or absorbed from painted surfaces. It’s measured on a scale from 0 to 100. The darker the color, the lower the number. The brighter the color, the higher the number.

For reference, Sherwin Williams Iron Ore has an LRV of 6 where as Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace has an LRV of 92. White Dove isn’t too bright, nor too dark for a white.
